Emergent Mind is a research explorer for arXiv, built to make new work in AI and mathematics approachable rather than simply listed. Alongside paper coverage it tracks open problems and exposes an API.
The problem it addresses is volume, not access. arXiv is free and complete, and that is precisely why it is hard to use – the field publishes faster than anyone can read, and deciding which of this week’s papers matter to you is a full job by itself. Summarisation plus a way to see what is genuinely new is the difference between following a field and drowning in it.
Tracking open problems is the more unusual feature and arguably the more valuable one, since knowing what remains unsolved orients a reader far faster than another list of results. The standing caveat for any summarised-research tool: read the paper before citing it, because a summary can be accurate about a result and silent about the assumption that limits it.
