PromptHero is a search engine and community for AI prompts, letting users search millions of prompts used to generate images and video across Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Sora, FLUX, and other leading generative models. Javi Ramirez and Javier Jimenez Rueda launched the platform in San Francisco in September 2022, days after Stable Diffusion's public release, and grew it to more than two million monthly visits within months.
Rather than generating images itself, PromptHero indexes prompts submitted by its community and lets users search by model, style, or subject to find a starting point they can adapt, alongside dedicated collections for the best prompts on each supported model. The site also runs an Academy section teaching prompt engineering and maintains a library of AI model documentation covering both image and video generation tools.
In November 2024, PromptHero was acquired by ElevenYellow, the company behind the Botto autonomous AI artist project, and continues operating under its original name and brand with ElevenYellow's backing. The core search and browse experience is free; a paid Plans tier adds features for creators who use the platform heavily.
