Distributional is an AI-testing company founded in September 2023 by Scott Clark, former general manager of AI software at Intel, alongside a founding team with testing experience from Bloomberg, Google, Meta, Slack, Stripe, Uber, and Yelp. The Berkeley, California-based company set out to build an enterprise platform dedicated specifically to testing the consistency of AI and machine-learning applications.
The platform automatically generates statistical tests tailored to a team's models and specifications, then organizes results into shared test repositories where engineers can triage failures and recalibrate tests as models change. It raised $19 million in Series A funding in October 2024, led by Two Sigma Ventures with Andreessen Horowitz participating, bringing total funding to $30 million less than a year after incorporation.
Distributional is built for AI engineering and product teams that need confidence their models behave consistently across statistical models, deep learning, and generative AI before shipping changes to production. A Free tier is available to start, the Pro tier runs $99 per month, and Enterprise pricing is custom for larger test volumes.
