BINARLY works on firmware security, a layer most security programmes never examine. Endpoint and network tools operate at or above the operating system, while firmware sits beneath it, which makes a firmware implant both extremely persistent and effectively invisible to conventional defences.
The technical claim that matters is detection of unknown vulnerabilities rather than matching known signatures. Firmware is largely proprietary binary code with little source availability, so signature-based approaches are weak by construction, and analysing the binaries themselves is the only way to find flaws nobody has catalogued yet.
Compliance is the second driver. Software bill of materials and supply chain security requirements increasingly extend to firmware, and organisations that cannot describe what is in their firmware cannot demonstrate compliance. This is specialist infrastructure for security teams in hardware-dependent or regulated environments.
