Squad AI works on product discovery, strategy and roadmapping, aiming at the question of what to build next rather than how to track what is already agreed. It describes itself as a harness for product management and, less modestly, as the Cursor for the discipline.
The problems it names are recognisable to anyone who has run a backlog: deciding around the highest-paid person’s opinion instead of customers, feature factories that ship without learning, scattered feedback nobody synthesises, and analysis paralysis once the data arrives. Those are judgement failures, not tracking failures, which is why another Jira board never fixes them.
Whether software can genuinely improve product judgement is a fair question, and the honest answer is that it can improve the inputs. Teams still have to make the call, and a tool that synthesises feedback well is worth more than one promising to decide for you.
