A flat $149 lifetime license covering up to 5 devices, rather than a recurring subscription, is a genuinely different and increasingly rare pricing model in this space – for a photographer, designer or studio running workflows regularly, that pays for itself against a subscription within months and then costs nothing further. Local processing for privacy-sensitive work, rather than uploading every image to a cloud service, also matters for client work under NDA or otherwise confidential.
Mac-only limits the addressable audience to that platform specifically, and local processing means output quality and speed depend on the actual Mac hardware running it, not a scalable cloud backend.
