reciTAL is a French company, founded in 2017, that sells an AI platform for industrial document processing to professionals in financial services, insurance, logistics and industry, as SaaS or on-premises. Its Studio IA is used to train and customise extraction models, and the platform handles long documents, poor-quality scans, handwriting and tables. A Production module runs low-code and no-code workflows with monitoring and configurable correction screens, and an Assistant module adds a modular retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solution for document question answering, summarisation and analysis. The architecture is fully API-enabled.
Documents that are hard for generic tools, handwritten forms and degraded scans in particular, are where a specialised extraction studio earns its place, and on-premises deployment matters to the regulated sectors it targets.
