BandLab is a music creation platform that runs in the browser and in mobile apps. Its Studio is a multi-track workstation the site describes as 100% free, with unlimited projects, free cloud storage and up to 50 collaborators on one project. Around it sits a social network where artists share tracks, plus distribution and fan tools; the company says creators keep 100% of their earnings and that more than 100 million creators and fans have joined.
The site groups four features under AI Tools: Effects, Mastering, SongStarter and Splitter. SongStarter is an AI music generator that produces three compositions for each idea. The user picks a Bright, Chill or Moody vibe, adjusts pitch and tempo, regenerates until one fits, then opens it in Studio as editable MIDI tracks with more than 385 virtual instruments. The ideas are royalty-free. Mastering is an automated online service the company says was designed with GRAMMY-winning engineers, and Splitter separates a song into its parts.
Creating music in Studio is free, and SongStarter is presented as a free generator. BandLab also sells a Membership with extra features, but its page did not load when checked, so no price is quoted here; see the Membership page for current rates.
