Buddy.ai is a language learning app for young children, made by AI Buddy, Inc. A child talks to an animated AI teacher, and the app uses voice recognition to hear what they say and respond. The lessons run as one-to-one voice games and conversations, and the company describes the AI teacher as a way to give the attention of a live tutor at lower cost. The app is organized in three programs that follow the US school system: Preschool for ages 3 to 5, Kindergarten for ages 5 to 6 and First Grade for ages 6 to 7.
The site calls Buddy an AI-based speech therapy tutor and says the early learning curriculum was developed by experts, covering colors, numbers, shapes, memory and social skills as well as English. It states that the app is ad-free with no in-app purchases. The site does not mention children’s privacy standards such as COPPA, so parents should read the linked Privacy Policy and Safety Policy before installing it.
A 7-day free trial comes first. On the US prices page a monthly plan is $12.49 billed after the trial, a 6-month plan is $29.99 and a one-year plan is $49.99, and the site advertises a 10 percent discount for subscribing on the web. Subscriptions renew automatically. The app is on the App Store, Google Play, Galaxy Store and App Gallery.
