Loco is a translation management system from White Interactive Ltd for developers who ship apps and websites in several languages. Strings are imported from a wide range of file formats, translators work in an online editor that supports collaboration, and the finished files are exported for the target platform or fetched by build scripts through the Loco API. Glossaries are available on every plan, and the site has a page for converting between iOS and Android string formats.
The AI feature is automatic translation. A project can have bots that translate in the background, using established translation APIs or the latest generation of AI language models, so untranslated strings are filled in before a person reviews them. It is one part of a localization workflow and not the whole product, so judge it first as a string-management tool. The company says it does not track users.
A Free plan covers up to 2,000 translations. Prices on the plans page are shown in three currencies; in US dollars Pro is $5.95 a month for 5,000 translations, Business is $19.95 for 25,000 and Agency is $29.95 for 125,000. Dollar prices are exempt from tax and apply to customers outside the UK and EU VAT areas, while sterling and euro prices exclude VAT. Extra translations can be added in blocks.
