Anima Health builds a care-enablement platform that combines online patient consultation with practice productivity tools for primary care teams. Shun Pang, a medical doctor and software engineer, and Rachel Mumford, formerly of the UK Treasury, founded the London-based company in 2021 after going through Y Combinator.
The platform centers on a realtime, multiplayer dashboard that lets GPs and administrative staff manage patient requests together, matching incoming messages and documents to the right patient record automatically and connecting directly to practice rotas to send booking invites. Anima states its automated matching and document summarization cut administrative processing time by more than half for the practices using it.
Anima is built for NHS-affiliated GP practices and outpatient clinics in the UK; roughly 150 NHS practices use the platform as of recent reporting, and it is free for patients. Pricing for practices is not published and requires contacting Anima directly.
