ChefGPT is an AI recipe and meal-planning assistant founded in Singapore in 2023 by Stefano Cantù. The company grew to more than 100,000 app downloads and a 4.6-star rating on a bootstrapped basis, building a mobile app alongside its web platform at chefgpt.xyz.
The product is organized around named AI 'chefs' for different jobs: PantryChef generates a recipe from ingredients a user already has on hand, including a camera mode that identifies ingredients from a photo; MacrosChef builds meals around specific protein, carb, and fat targets; and MealPlanChef assembles a week of meals with an auto-generated grocery list. A separate calorie-tracking mode logs meals from photos and estimates nutritional breakdowns.
ChefGPT suits home cooks who want less trial-and-error around what to make with what's already in the fridge, plus fitness-focused users tracking macros. The app is free for 10 recipe generations a month; a Pro subscription at $2.99 a month (or $29.99 a year) removes the cap and unlocks extended meal planning.
