The product bundles more than 100 narrow AI tools rather than one general chatbot: a virtual card that signs up for free trials and auto-cancels before they charge, templates for FOIA requests and DMV appointments, and negotiation scripts for lowering bills. Each tool is scoped to a specific bureaucratic task instead of offering open-ended legal advice.
DoNotPay suits consumers who want help with a recurring stream of small bureaucratic annoyances rather than a substitute for an attorney on a serious legal matter. Subscription pricing has been inconsistent across billing cycles and drew a $193,000 FTC fine in September 2024 for overstating what its AI could verify; recent billing has run around $36 charged every one to two months, and the company does not offer a free tier.
