Climate Policy Radar is a UK-based nonprofit founded in 2021 by Michal Nachmany, building open, AI-powered research tools for climate law and policy. Its work traces back to a 2009 pilot at the London School of Economics, and the organization released the first alpha version of its flagship database in 2022.
The core product is a searchable database of more than 30,000 national climate laws, policies, and UN submissions, made navigable through natural-language processing that renders what used to be unstructured, siloed government documents into structured, comparable data. Rather than a commercial SaaS product, Climate Policy Radar operates as open data and open source, publishing its underlying datasets (including on Hugging Face) so researchers and other organizations can build on top of them directly.
