DapperGPT is a browser-based interface built on top of multiple AI models, founded in 2023 by Ryan Tando, who built the tool after concluding the original ChatGPT interface fell short on usability. The one-person build reached $6,000 in annual revenue by October of its first year before growing into a Product Hunt-featured product with a 1.0 release.
Rather than training its own model, DapperGPT sits in front of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Grok, and Llama models and adds a Chrome extension, AI-generated notes, a Spotlight-style smart search across past chats, pinned favorites, and voice-to-text and text-to-voice on top. Users connect their own API key from a provider of choice, so usage costs flow directly to that provider rather than through DapperGPT.
DapperGPT fits people who already pay for multiple AI subscriptions and want one interface to manage them, particularly power users of ChatGPT's API who find the default UI limiting. Core features are free once a user supplies their own API key, with premium extras unlockable through one-time purchases or a yearly subscription; exact premium pricing is not published on the site.
