Fume, also marketed under the domain FumeDev, is an AI testing agent that generates and maintains browser test suites for web applications. Founded in 2024 by Emre Gucer and Metehan Oz, the San Francisco company went through Y Combinator's Winter 2024 batch and raised a $500,000 pre-seed round shortly after.
Instead of writing test scripts by hand, teams record a screencast of themselves clicking through a user flow, and Fume's AI converts that recording into a working Playwright test in seconds. Tests then run automatically on a schedule, and when a script breaks because the UI changed, Fume's browser agent attempts to repair the test rather than failing silently, with users keeping full ownership of the generated Playwright code even after canceling.
Fume fits engineering and QA teams that want end-to-end test coverage without a dedicated test-automation engineer, from small startups to larger organizations already running Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress suites. The Team plan costs $500/month after a 30-day free trial, and Enterprise pricing is negotiated directly with Fume's sales team.
