Gestualy is a Spanish web service that measures how customers or event guests feel by having them vote with hand gestures in front of a webcam instead of filling in a survey. It runs in a browser on any device with a webcam, needs no touch screen, and says its gesture model was trained on more than 500 gestures and reaches 98% accuracy, a vendor claim with no published testing. Owners get an email alert when a configurable number of negative votes arrives, gamification to encourage participation and anonymised statistical reports. Its named customers include a restaurant in Malaga and an events company, and it reports measuring attendee satisfaction at a vaccinology event organised by GSK and the University of Malaga.
Beyond gestures, the site says the system uses AI and computer vision to infer age, gender (man or woman) and emotions such as happy, sad, scared, surprised, angry or neutral in real time, and it lists facial analysis and recognition among its capabilities. That is sensitive processing. Inferring emotion or demographics from faces needs a lawful basis and clear notice under GDPR, emotion-recognition systems are treated as high-risk under the EU AI Act, and the Act bans emotion recognition in workplaces and schools, so it should not be used to read staff or students. The site states full GDPR compliance certified by an external agency, named as PRODAT on a plan page, which is a vendor claim; its demo mode stores no data.
