KAI integrates ChatGPT directly into an iPhone’s system keyboard, giving users AI writing assistance inside whatever app they’re already using – Messages, Mail, Notes, or any other app with a text field – without switching to a separate ChatGPT app and copying results back.
Living inside the keyboard itself, rather than requiring an app switch, is the same friction-removal principle that’s made inline AI tools valuable elsewhere this session (Shortkut for browser input boxes, Flowshot for spreadsheet cells) – applied here to the entire iPhone, where the keyboard is present in every app that accepts text input. That breadth is the actual value: AI writing help becomes available everywhere at once, not just in one dedicated app.
KAI is built and maintained by an independent creator (Akshat Giri) rather than a larger company, available on the Apple App Store. Specific pricing isn’t shown on the landing page.
