Microsoft Translator provides translation across text, speech and live conversation, available free on the web, on mobile and integrated throughout Microsoft's products. Its positioning is straightforward: breaking the language barrier at home, at work, and anywhere it is needed.
Live conversation translation is the most distinctive capability. Multiple people can join a translated conversation on their own devices, each reading or hearing their own language, which is a genuinely different capability from translating text back and forth and is useful in meetings, classrooms and travel.
Being free and deeply integrated into Office and Edge means it is often already available rather than something to adopt. The realistic caveat for professional work is that machine translation quality varies substantially by language pair, and anything published or contractual needs human review, particularly for less widely supported languages.
