Overview

Sprite Fusion is a 2D level design tool that runs in a browser with no login. Drag in a tileset, draw the map, and export in one click to Unity, Godot, Defold, Phaser, GDevelop, Bevy, Love2D, Cocos or Flame. Auto-tiling handles terrain transitions and collision is supported.

Exporting to nine engines is the decision that makes it worth using. Every engine ships its own tilemap editor, each is tied to that engine, and a designer who wants to prototype in Phaser and ship in Godot normally rebuilds the level. A built-in pixel art generator and a Pixel Snapper for cleaning up existing art close the loop for people without an artist.

The web edition is free with unlimited projects and no account, capped at 4.5MB per map export; a desktop edition for Windows and macOS is $14.99 once with lifetime updates. It is made by one person, Hugo Duprez, which is worth knowing before depending on it, it covers 2D tilemaps only, and the free export cap is a real limit on large maps.
