Alicent is a Chrome extension, founded by the owners of a small agency in New York, that layers extra tools on top of ChatGPT. It ships a library of 250+ curated prompts across categories such as business, marketing, writing and email, lets a prompt pull in content from a web page the user is viewing, and has writing-style and expert toggles to steer a response toward a particular use case. A brand-voice setting is meant to keep responses consistent with a business’s tone, translation is built in, and saved history and favourites keep earlier prompts and sessions within reach. The site says the extension has more than 10,000 downloads.
Alicent’s Starter plan runs on GPT-3, a materially older model than the ones current AI tools tend to lead with, and the footer copyright reads 2023, so its update pace is worth checking before subscribing. PDF and image uploads are both listed as coming soon rather than shipped, so a prospective subscriber should confirm those features have landed if they matter for the intended use. As with any prompt-layering tool, the quality of an answer still depends on ChatGPT itself, and a brand-voice or expert setting only steers the request, it does not fact-check the reply.
Starter is $8 a month for GPT-3, 75,000 words a month and the full prompt library. Pro is $24 a month, adding GPT-4 access, 300,000 words a month and early access to new features. Both plans include a 3-day free trial and unlimited translations, and pricing is also available on an annual basis at a discount.
