Alphathena brings direct indexing to registered investment advisers. Rather than holding a fund that tracks an index, direct indexing holds the underlying securities individually, which allows the portfolio to be personalised to a client's preferences and, more importantly, allows tax-loss harvesting at the individual position level.
That capability used to sit with the largest wealth managers because the operational overhead of managing many individual positions across many client accounts was prohibitive. Automating the rebalancing and harvesting logic is what makes it viable for independent advisers, which is the platform's core argument.
The tax benefit is real but depends on client circumstances, and this is adviser infrastructure rather than a consumer product. Nothing here constitutes investment advice; advisers evaluating it should assess it against their own compliance framework and client base.
