Atmo is a San Francisco company, Atmo Inc., that builds deep-learning weather models for governments, militaries and industry. The site says its models take real-time measurements from weather satellites, ground stations, radars and ocean buoys, and it claims forecasts up to 40,000 times faster than traditional models, up to 50% more accurate across major variables from 24-hour nowcasts to 14-day medium-range forecasts, and resolution as fine as 1 km by 1 km for microclimates, which it calls nano-climates. The homepage names the United States Air Force, the United States Navy and the Philippines national government as customers, lists forecast deployments by region and year, from Europe in 2021 to Cape Canaveral, the Philippines and Vietnam in 2024, and links forecast viewers at earth.atmo.ai and sf.atmo.ai.
Status and claims need care. On 17 June 2026 Vaisala announced an agreement to acquire Atmo for USD 70 million plus an earn-out of up to USD 60 million, with closing expected at the end of 2026 subject to approvals. The release puts Atmo’s 2025 net sales at USD 2 million and its 2026 contracted revenue above USD 6 million, and it does not say whether the Atmo brand or products will continue. The speed, accuracy and resolution figures are the vendor’s own, and the pages reviewed show no benchmark method or independent check. The tagline also promises weather modification; the news page carries a press release about an alliance with Rainmaker to pair the forecasts with robotic cloud seeding, while the homepage gives no regulatory or safety detail. The company site itself carries a 2024 copyright and a news page marked last updated May 2024.
Pricing is not published, and the site points to booking a meeting with the team. It lists open roles in San Francisco and general and media contact addresses.
