Bannerbear is an API for automating marketing assets: templates are designed once, then code or no-code workflows fill them with data to produce social images, ecommerce banners, videos with titles, overlays and subtitles, animations and PDFs. It integrates with more than 50 tools including Airtable, Notion, Shopify, WordPress, HubSpot and Zapier, and has REST libraries for major languages.
AI is a layer on that automation rather than the product itself, and the AI pieces are concrete: automatic subtitles are reported to use OpenAI’s Whisper for transcription, there is a background-removal tool, version 5 templates can generate AI backgrounds, and an MCP server lets agents such as Claude or Cursor drive the API in plain language. The paid plans meter this separately, with 200 AI credits a month on Automate rising to 1,250 on Enterprise. If the job is producing thousands of on-brand variations from one template, that is the value; if you want open-ended image generation, this is the wrong shape of tool.
The free trial includes 30 API credits with no card, one workspace and three templates of each type. Paid plans are Automate at $49 a month (1,000 API credits, REST API, MCP, forms and workflows), Scale at $149 (10,000 credits, team members, custom S3, instant URLs) and Enterprise at $299 (50,000 credits, SSO, audit logs, zero data retention). The company says it has been in business since 2020.
