Buildpad is a bootstrapped startup founded in 2024 by brothers Felix and David Heikka, who built the product after two earlier startup attempts did not work out. Felix left the military and moved to Budapest to join David in building Buildpad full time.
The platform, marketed as an "AI cofounder," walks users through a structured, multi-phase process covering ideation, market research, validation, persona creation, and MVP planning through AI chat combined with integrated research tools. Its Reddit integration scans discussions across the platform to surface what people actually say about a problem, industry, or existing solution, giving founders a demand signal drawn from real conversations rather than a model's general training data alone.
Buildpad suits early-stage founders validating an idea before writing code or raising money, rather than teams that already have a defined product roadmap. More than 100,000 founders have used the platform; pricing runs Free for the initial ideation and validation phases, Pro at $39 a month for around 3 projects worth of credits, and Max at $85 a month for around 8 projects.
