Colorize.cc turns a black-and-white photo into a colourised, restored image using a choice of AI models. A visitor can drop in a photo and see a fast, automatic colourisation preview directly on the page with no account needed, and paid credits unlock premium models, higher resolution up to 4K and a V8 Studio mode for more controlled, repeated edits on the same image. The service positions itself for restoring old family photo archives as well as one-off edits, and every plan, free or paid, includes secure storage and access to resolution enhancement alongside colourisation.
Different model versions cost different numbers of credits, from 1 credit for the older V2, V4 and V5 models up to 6 credits for the newest V7 model and 2 to 4 credits per edit in V8 Studio, so the real cost of restoring a large archive depends heavily on which model quality is chosen, not only the headline credit-pack price. As with any AI colourisation tool, the added colour is the model’s best guess rather than a historical record of the original scene, so a restored photo used for anything beyond personal use should be labelled as AI-colourised rather than presented as an authentic historical colour photograph.
There is no subscription; credits are bought as one-time packs valid for 365 days. Basic is $12 for 50 credits. Standard is $49 for 250 credits, described as the sweet spot for restoring an archive with premium models. For Studios is $199 for 1,250 credits, aimed at large collections and client work with repeated V8 Studio edits.
