DraftWise builds AI contract drafting, review, and negotiation software for law firms and in-house legal teams, working directly inside Microsoft Word. Will Seaton, Ozan Yalti, and Emre Ozen founded the company in 2020; it is headquartered in New York with additional offices in San Francisco and London.
Rather than drafting from generic legal language, DraftWise indexes a firm's own historical contracts, playbooks, and precedent to surface clause recommendations and flag deviations from past deals, and an AI Associate feature can validate a contract against a term sheet or draft a first pass autonomously. The system mirrors a firm's existing document-management-system permissions so access control does not need to be rebuilt separately.
DraftWise is built for Am Law 100 firms, in-house legal departments at large companies, and other teams with enough contract volume to make precedent search worthwhile. Pricing is not published and is quoted per firm; the company has raised $28 million total, including a $20 million Series A led by Index Ventures in March 2024.
