Kodezi works at codebase level rather than at the cursor, positioning itself as an “AI CTO for codebases” with debugging as the central capability, driven by its Chronos model.
Targeting debugging is a more interesting bet than targeting code generation. Writing new code is the part of the job that is already well served and, frankly, the easier half; the expensive hours go to understanding why existing code misbehaves – which requires holding the interaction between several files, a data shape and a deployment quirk in mind at once. That is a whole-codebase problem, and it is where autocomplete-shaped tools have least to offer.
Judge it on the bugs that actually cost you time – the intermittent ones, the ones spanning a boundary between services – rather than on a syntax error any tool would find. And the standing rule applies: uploading a proprietary codebase to any service needs checking against your employer’s policy first.
