Lore was founded in 2023, co-founded by physician Rushika Fernandopulle, also co-founder and former CEO of Iora Health, alongside a behavioral-health researcher, to build an AI-driven app aimed at combating loneliness and supporting everyday mental well-being.
Its LoreBot uses what the company calls reverse prompting: instead of lecturing, it asks questions and includes encouragement while the user works through a decision or situation at their own pace. An anonymous community feed lets people read and share real moments with others facing similar circumstances, and Lore states it runs ad-free and does not sell user data.
Lore is distributed largely through Medicare Advantage plans, health systems, and employers, and the app itself is free to download, with eligible users able to earn rewards such as gift cards or wearables for staying engaged. The company has raised more than $100 million to date, including an $80 million round in 2024.
