Markup AI is the company formerly known as Acrolinx, which rebranded in September 2025 alongside a $27.5 million financing and a new AI-native platform that its CEO described as more of a restart than a rebrand. Its Content Guardian Agents scan, score and fix content, whether written by people or by AI, against brand voice and style guidelines, persona fit, terminology and accuracy standards, content integrity and AI-search readiness signals such as freshness, question-and-answer optimisation, snippet readiness and source authority. Flagged issues are clickable, with one-step fixes and automatic rewriting.
Acting as a control layer between writing and publishing is a sensible place for governance now that generative tools produce more content than editors can read. The agents work where content is made: Google Docs, Microsoft Word, ChatGPT, Claude and custom LLMs through an API and MCP, and on Enterprise Zapier, n8n, AEM Guides, Contentful, VS Code and Figma. Customers listed include Siemens, SAAB, DAF, Kohler and Microsoft; since the brand is new, ask which of them use the new platform rather than the earlier Acrolinx product. The old acrolinx.com site still runs and announces the change.
Pricing is published, which is unusual for enterprise content tooling: Starter at $249 a month with annual billing covers 12 million words checked a year with unlimited users, Business at $999 covers 50 million words and adds priority support, and Enterprise is custom with a Style Agent powered by Acrolinx, custom agents, SSO and SCIM provisioning and a dedicated success manager. All plans have a free 30-day trial. Word volume is the meter, so estimate your annual word count before choosing a tier.
