Quino is an LMS for colleges, universities, community colleges and K-12 schools in the United States. It covers courses, lessons, online exams, a gradebook, diplomas and a library, and the company says it started as ExamAI, which still appears in its page metadata. It describes itself as a UC Berkeley SkyDeck company based in Berkeley, California, and lists Google Cloud for Startups, Microsoft for Startups and NVIDIA Inception among its backers.
The AI features focus on marking. An instructor photographs a paper exam and Quino grades it against the rubric with feedback on each question, which the company says takes about 14 seconds. It reads handwriting from neat print to rushed notes, equations and symbols. AI also writes quizzes from the notes, textbooks and slides an instructor supplies, and builds course guides around a program’s learning outcomes. Exams, feedback and the platform work in ten languages. Online exams use a locked full-screen window, paste blocking and webcam face tracking.
Institutions pay $3 per student per month according to the homepage, which covers AI grading, AI tests and AI lessons, while courses, lessons, exams, the gradebook, diplomas and mobile apps carry no extra charge. Exact pricing comes from an enterprise calculator. There is no permanent free plan, but a free pilot is offered, and Google Cloud sponsors pilots for US institutions.
