Refont produces stylised lettering: calligraphy, signatures, tattoo scripts, handwriting and decorative text across more than 100 styles including gothic, graffiti, bubble and seasonal sets, plus text editing inside existing images and logo and poster generation. Output is high resolution and offered for personal and commercial use, with free tools and some features behind a subscription.
For the jobs it actually suits this works well. A tattoo script, a signature graphic, a poster headline or a one-off logotype are all single pieces of lettering where you want a specific look once and have no interest in owning a typeface, and generating that directly is faster than hunting through font libraries for something close.
The critical thing to understand before paying is in the fine print: **output is an image, not a font file.** There is no .ttf or .otf, which means you cannot install it, cannot type in it, cannot edit the words later, and cannot use it in a document or a website as text – a headline you need to change becomes a new generation rather than an edit. The name and the category framing both suggest a font generator and the product is a lettering image generator, which is a different tool for a different job. Judged as the second it is decent.
