Crux (branded GetCrux) was founded in 2022 in San Francisco by Himank Jain, Atharva Padhye, and Prabhat Singh, three IIT Bombay graduates who had worked on analytics and ML teams at large companies before building the tool. The startup went through Y Combinator's Winter 2024 batch and raised a $2.6 million seed round.
Crux runs three connected agents against a brand's ad accounts: a Creative Analyzer that breaks down winning and losing ads across more than 100 parameters (hooks, pacing, messaging, music), an Audience Analyzer that mines sentiment from reviews, comments, and competitor ads for new angles, and a Creative Generator that produces new ad variations from the patterns it finds and pushes them to Google or Meta. Instead of a general chatbot answering questions about a data warehouse, it is scoped specifically to advertising creative and audience research.
Built for performance marketers and growth teams running paid social and search campaigns who want a data-backed answer to what to make next. The free plan connects one Google or Meta ad account and covers up to 100 questions; teams that need more accounts, volume, or publishing automation move to a custom-quoted paid plan set up through a call with the founders.
