Ambience Healthcare, founded in 2020 by Mike Ng and Nikhil Buduma in San Francisco, builds ambient clinical documentation that listens across outpatient, emergency, and inpatient settings, generating coding-aware notes across more than 100 medical specialties rather than a single-department tool.
That breadth of coverage helped it win one of the category's most closely watched competitive evaluations: Cleveland Clinic ran a six-month pilot pitting five major ambient scribes against each other, then signed Ambience to an exclusive five-year partnership. The company has raised $313 million total, including a $243 million Series C in July 2025 co-led by Oak HC/FT and Andreessen Horowitz at a $1.25 billion valuation, with health system clients also including Houston Methodist and St. Luke's Health System.
Enterprise pricing is negotiated per health system and requires a sales conversation. For a health system that wants ambient documentation validated across outpatient, emergency, and inpatient settings in one platform, rather than separate tools per department, Ambience's cross-setting coverage addresses that directly.
