DetectivesGame is a set of AI-driven interactive detective cases. You work a mystery by examining evidence, interrogating suspects and assembling what happened, with the questioning handled conversationally rather than through a menu of pre-written options. The interface offers multiple languages and light and dark themes, and cases sit behind a free account.
Interrogation is one of the genuinely well-matched uses of a language model in games. Detective fiction is the genre most damaged by dialogue trees, because the pleasure of it is asking the question the writer did not anticipate, and a scripted game can only ever offer the questions someone thought of. A suspect who answers whatever you actually ask – including the oblique question that catches them – is the version of this genre that was not previously buildable.
The corresponding risk is consistency, and it is the hard problem rather than an incidental one. A suspect who can be talked into contradicting their own alibi, or who cheerfully confirms a detail you invented, breaks a mystery in a way that breaks nothing in an open-ended chatbot – the whole form depends on the facts being fixed before you start asking. How well any given case holds together under adversarial questioning is the only review that matters here, and it varies case by case.
