That emphasis suits the users who cannot ship a black box. In engineering, medicine, energy and anywhere a model informs a regulated decision, a prediction nobody can account for is unusable regardless of its accuracy – and the person signing off needs to understand which inputs drove the output. Being desktop software rather than a cloud service also matters here: data that cannot leave the building can still be modelled.
There is a free version with no time limit, which is unusually generous and lets you evaluate against a real dataset properly. Two honest limits: explainability is a spectrum rather than a property a tool either has or lacks, so check what the explanations actually tell you about your model, and this is a modelling tool – it will not fix data that was collected badly.
