PhaseLab handles data subject access requests and bulk redaction for legal, privacy, HR and compliance teams. DSARs are a specific and painful obligation: a person requests all data an organisation holds about them, the organisation has a statutory deadline, and the work is manually reviewing and redacting thousands of documents.
Deduplication before review is the detail that shows the team understands the problem. A DSAR export is full of near-duplicates, the same email in twelve mailboxes, the same attachment across threads, and reviewing each copy separately is where most of the time disappears. Removing duplicates first shrinks the actual work far more than reviewing faster does.
Redaction at scale is the other half, and it is compliance-critical: a missed redaction discloses third-party personal data and creates a fresh breach. Automated redaction should therefore be verified rather than trusted blindly, and the tool positions itself as making review faster rather than removing the reviewer.
