Powabase is a backend-as-a-service built specifically for AI applications. It provides the familiar pieces, a Postgres database per project, authentication, storage and realtime, and adds the two things AI apps need that conventional backends do not: a retrieval pipeline and a runtime for agents.
That combination is the point. Building an AI application on a general backend means assembling the retrieval layer separately, wiring up embeddings and a vector store, and finding somewhere for agents to actually execute. Having those as first-class parts of the platform removes a substantial amount of glue code.
It is explicitly designed to be driven by a coding agent, which is a sensible bet on how these applications increasingly get built. Pricing starts free and rises through roughly twenty-five to three hundred dollars, so it scales from a prototype to a funded product without a pricing cliff.
