WhisperBot is a WhatsApp assistant, built by a solo developer credited as Mael, that turns a forwarded voice message into text. A user forwards a voice note to the bot’s WhatsApp number, and it replies with a transcription in something close to real time, quoting an average of 15.6 seconds per message on the homepage counter. For a long message, the bot can also return a short summary of the key points on request. It runs on OpenAI’s Whisper technology, the site says it understands more than 57 languages, and it claims at least 95% transcription accuracy, all vendor figures with no independent test shown.
The privacy claim is specific: WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption covers the voice message in transit, and once a transcription is delivered, the site says both the original voice note and the transcription are deleted from WhisperBot’s database. That is a stronger stance than most bots take, though it cannot be verified from outside the service. As with any transcription tool, background noise, accents or overlapping speakers can still produce an inaccurate transcript, so treat a transcription of anything important as a starting point rather than a verbatim record. The homepage footer copyright reads 2022, so confirm the bot is still actively maintained before relying on it.
WhisperBot Premium is EUR8.95 a month, billed monthly, with a free trial to start, and includes unlimited voice transcriptions, ChatGPT-enhanced summaries of longer messages and the ability to ask follow-up questions about a transcription. A Yearly billing toggle and a one-time-payment option are both mentioned in the site’s navigation, but their exact prices are rendered in a way that could not be read during this review, so only the monthly figure is used here.
