SOLA automates data entry, scraping and processing by combining language models with computer vision, which lets it operate software through its interface rather than through an API. That distinction is the whole point: a great deal of business process work happens in systems that were never designed to be automated and expose no integration surface.
Traditional robotic process automation solved this too, but by recording brittle click sequences that break whenever a layout changes. Using vision and language models to interpret the screen is meant to survive interface changes that would break a recorded script, which is the main maintenance cost of classic RPA.
Vision-driven automation remains slower and less deterministic than a direct API call. Where an integration exists, use it. SOLA earns its place on the legacy and third-party systems where no such option is available, which is exactly where automation is otherwise impossible.
