Aaavatar is a browser-based headshot tool built by the Dutch creative agency Square One, launching publicly in 2026 with a Product Hunt debut in May of that year. It targets a narrow, recognizable problem: HR and design teams end up with employee photos shot in different lighting, backgrounds, and quality, and someone has to manually make them look like they belong on the same team page.
Users drop one or several profile photos into the browser tool, and Aaavatar removes the background, balances color and lighting, and restores cropped-off shoulders or hair in a single pass, exporting results sized for LinkedIn, Slack, email signatures, and other formats. A "Magic Retouch" step adjusts skin tone and adds a subtle shadow lift so faces read as evenly lit even when the source photos weren't.
The tool suits HR teams, design/brand teams, and fast-growing startups that need a uniform team gallery without booking a photographer for every new hire. Aaavatar runs on a freemium model, the free tier processes three photos on its main AI model plus three more on a lighter model, but Square One hasn't published a price for the unlimited Pro tier; interested teams need to check in-app for current Pro pricing.
