Neo4j is a graph database: it stores data as nodes and the relationships between them, which suits connected data such as fraud networks, supply chains and recommendations. It is available as AuraDB, a managed cloud service on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, and as self-managed software. The company now describes the product as a knowledge layer that gives AI systems accurate and explainable context.
The AI features build on that graph. GraphRAG retrieves facts and their relationships from a knowledge graph to ground a language model’s answer, and the company presents an agentic version of the same pattern. Aura Agent is a tool for building and deploying context-aware agents on data held in Aura. The site also covers agent memory, a context graph design for agents, a Model Context Protocol server and integrations with common AI frameworks. Neo4j publishes its own figures for reduced hallucinations, which are vendor claims.
AuraDB Free costs $0 with no card, with limits on nodes and relationships. On the US pricing page AuraDB Professional starts at $0.09 per GB per hour with a 1 GB minimum, and Business Critical starts at $0.20 per GB per hour with a 2 GB minimum. Larger and self-managed deployments are quoted.
