Roll is a remote recording tool for teams that make interviews, testimonials and podcasts on video. A host runs the session remotely while the guest films on an iPhone, and the footage is captured at higher quality than a video call. The pitch is a studio result without sending a crew, and the site describes the app as a director of photography that frames the shot for the guest.
The AI features are listed on the pricing page. Multicam Capture produces tight and wide shots from a single phone. Lighting Detection and body sensing guide the setup, and Cinematic Bokeh blurs the background. VFX camera effects add virtual pans, dolly moves and crane shots without anyone moving the phone. Autoedits generate an edit from the recording in minutes. A text-based editor and publishing to multiple platforms are marked as coming soon, so editing options are still limited.
The Free plan includes two hours of recording as a one-time allowance. On the US pricing page Creator is $79 per user a month with three hours of recording a month, and Pro is $249 per user a month with ten hours and three additional editors. Larger teams can book a demo. The iPhone app was last updated in late September 2026.
